Loss is more common than many people realize, yet it is rarely spoken about or given the space it deserves. We were drawn to this work because of the parents we have known, including in our own families, who never had the chance to name their babies, to celebrate them, or to grieve them openly. Their silence showed us how deeply under-supported families are in this kind of heartbreak. Our work in bereavement is about breaking that silence and making sure no one has to carry their grief alone.
Support through loss often looks a lot like postpartum care. It may mean helping a family find rest, preparing meals, connecting them with community, or simply sitting with them in their grief. We offer support during loss itself, immediately afterward, or even months and years later, because grief does not follow a timeline. We honor the sacredness of loss by honoring every emotion that comes with it, whether it is emptiness, anger, confusion, or love that feels like it has no place to go. We also draw on ancestral and holistic traditions, helping families reconnect with rituals of mourning and remembrance that feel true to them.
Every family grieves in their own way. Some may want to create ritual, some hold memorial services or fundraisers, others simply want a quiet witness to their pain. However a family chooses to honor their baby, our role is to make sure they feel safe, supported, and never alone. Community-centered bereavement means not only tending to the parents, but also holding space for siblings, grandparents, friends, and the wider circle of care. Our hope is that families leave our time together knowing that grief does not end, it changes, and that we will always be here when they need support.
This space is for parents and families who have experienced loss to share their stories, poems, art, and memories. We believe every baby deserves to be remembered, and every parent deserves a place where their love and grief can be seen. Whether your words are soft and tender, raw and aching, or a whisper of remembrance, your voice belongs here. By sharing, we create community so no one carries their baby’s memory alone. When you feel ready, we welcome you to share in whatever form feels right.
